Post-Vasectomy Pain Stories

From the web forums: I started developing pain three days after my vasectomy in the testicle area. It started as a tingling sensation which progressed to a feeling of being kicked, and finally, dull pains on both sides of the testicles as well as the bottom area around the scrotum area. I finally got completely well after 11 months. I was pain free for 6 months until one day I was jumping and playing basketball, followed by a leg hamstring work out. A couple of hours later the pain sensation returned. The only diagnosis I have received is scar tissue nerve entrapment. My condition has improved some but with any minor activity the pressure, swelling, and pain sensation returns. My treatment approach has been very conservative, hoping that time will help me heal. Other non-invasive treatment consists of medications, physical therapy, swimming etc. Nothing has worked. Sometimes my pain is severe and I miss work. Other times I just grind it out. My ultrasound indicated some swelling in the right testicular region. My blood test was positive for autoimmunity to my on sperm. PVP has changed my life. I have two kids that I can’t play with, I can’t do any house work or yard work. I can no longer work out or golf. I cannot walk or sit for an extended time. Everything I do revolves around PVP. This has not only affected me, but my family as well. I would like to explore some treatment options, but I have not heard of any treatment options that work. It sounds like everything causes more discomfort.
Another "Black Swan" outcome: I didn't experience the post-surgery discomfort of some men. Within a couple of weeks, I developed a lot of discomfort related to what I felt to be pressure in my testicles which was centered in the epididymis. I went back for my post-vasectomy checks and the urologist told me not to worry about it, that the pressure would "eventually" go away. I tried to find information about the pain I was experiencing, but there was nothing in the local university's library, and very little information on the web. The only references I could find to post vasectomy pain on the web indicated that it was "extremely rare" (that 1% number again) and "usually" went away after six months. Over a period of months, this pressure developed into almost constant pain...

I had a vasectomy 20 years ago 1988 and still suffer from discomfort mostly on the right side as I write this. I am 57 years old and will do any recommended procedure to alleviate this pain. The discomfort started immediately after the procedure. Standing or sitting to long on hard surface causes pain. I am sore after sex. I went back few times for nerve blocks. I’ve been seen by 3 or 4 different urologists. I’ve been treated for chronic Epididymitis and Prostatitis. Scrotal scan showed a small cyst and I was told that it is not the cause for the pain. Cystoscopy showed a slightly enlarged prostate, but this is not a cause for pain. Sometimes feels like a deep groin pain with a sensation up to the lower right abdominal area...
